Recently I have been learning a lot of digital marketing companies are not addressing online business directory management. If you are a business owner with a physical office location and have not claimed the top online directory listings you need to do so ASAP!
Claiming Online Directories
I recommend you first claim Google My Business as Google is the number one search engine and will make it easier for the other online directories to follow ship.
Secondly I recommend you claim Yelp as we know iPhones come with Yelp reviews linked to the map which influence your online business reputation.
Thirdly I suggest you claim Bing Places as you maybe able to utilize your verification from Google My Business to expedite ownership.
Coming in fourth I would claim Yahoo My Business. This maybe a more complicated process as Yahoo has partnered with Yext and the process is a little more complicated. You will have to enter you business information for a free scan and follow the prompts to properly claim your business. Pros are it is still possible Cons are that it is a lengthier process resulting in a “PowerListings Scan Reports”. You must only click on Claim Your Basic Listing on Yahoo here. Price will be $0.00 and you will have to I agree to click on the Yext PowerListings and Dashboard terms and conditions and Privacy Policy There will also be a checkbox for “I understand that neither Yext nor Yahoo guarantees that your listing will be displayed on Yahoo” which you will also have to agree to. Lastly you will receive a verification notice “Order Complete” and should be receiving an e-mail notification to the e-mail you provided. Lastly, if you go through the “Fix All My Listings” you will prompt YEXT that you maybe interested in their Business Correction/ Verification process.
